Hot Openings: Sixty Hotels debuts in Miami

Located in Miami’s Art Deco District, Nautilus, a Sixty Hotel, has debuted on the famed oceanfront. Originally designed as the Nautilus hotel in the 1950s by architect Morris Lapidus, Sixty Hotels restored the property, adding contemporary elegance while also preserving key elements of the original design.

The hotel’s 250 guestrooms and suites are draped in neutral colors and feature flat-screen televisions, vintage-style mini-bar chests and custom artwork from photographer Sante D’Orazio. Many rooms and suites feature balconies with ocean views, and the penthouse includes two bedrooms, a dining area, kitchen and garden terrace.

Celebrity chef Alex Guarnaschelli leads the signature restaurant, Driftwood Room. Designed with mid-century roots, the 200-seat restaurant offers a separate private dining room providing natural daylight and views of the pool from the outdoor terrace.

Outside, the Nautilus Cabana Club includes a deck, poolside retreat, pool bar and backyard. The saltwater swimming pool is surrounded by cabanas and the lawn features Bolivian hammocks overlooking the beach, with private chairs for beach service.
