Dusit International, the Thailand-based hotel and property development company, is strengthening its presence in Thailand with the addition of a luxury resort and brand residences to its management portfolio in Phuket. Dusit has partnered with VillaCarte Group, a Phuket-based real estate development company, to manage a dual-branded luxury hotel and apartment complex in VillaCarte’s upcoming Layan Verde Project on the west coast of Phuket.
The resort as well as the residences are expected to welcome guests from 2027.
Situated 800 meters from the Bang Tao Beach (where Dusit has operated the Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket resort for over 30 years), Layan Verde spans more than 108,000 square meters and consists of 15 mid-rise buildings designed by architect Mohammed Adi, chief design officer of Dewan Architects + Engineers.
The Dusit Collection – Layan Verde will feature five buildings offering a total of 398 rooms. This marks the first hotel to be signed under Dusit’s new luxury Dusit Collection brand, which aims to offer luxury hotels in iconic destinations.
Dusit Residences – Layan Verde will comprise five more buildings totaling 388 rooms. The Dusit Residences brand leverages Dusit’s experience in operating luxury hotels and resorts globally to offer the same standards of service to residents of luxury condominiums and apartments.
“Our partnership with VillaCarte Group represents a unique opportunity to redefine luxury residential living in Phuket,” said Siradej Donavanik, vice president, global development, Dusit International. “This project complements our existing Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket resort and further strengthens our commitment to providing exceptional hospitality experiences in Phuket.”
Guests of the resort and residences can avail a range of services and amenities, which includes an all-day dining restaurant, a rooftop bar, pool, fitness center, kid’s club and banqueting space. The property will also offer a shopping center and an ocean club.
As part of its sustainability efforts, the property will follow the concept of Biophilic Architecture, with a focus on energy efficiency, sustainability, inspiration from nature, and environmental conservation. Interiors of the resort and the apartments will be installed with eco-friendly, moisture-resistant materials. Advanced EDGE-certified technology will be implemented to ensure water and electricity consumption can lowered by up to 45%.
“Alongside Dusit’s five-star standards of service and growing global portfolio of Dusit Hotels and Resorts, we were also impressed by the size and scale of the upcoming Dusit Central Park project in Bangkok,” said VillaCarte Group Co-CEO, Vadym Bukhkalov. “Its design, seamlessly integrating a luxury hotel and residences with sustainable features like a public roof park, aligns with our own commitment to creating a harmonious blend of nature and contemporary luxury at Layan Verde. This shared passion for sustainability is the cornerstone of our exciting and promising partnership with Dusit.”
Dusit has been expanding its portfolio to further strengthen its position in Asia and offer a variety of accommodation options to its guests. In May, the company marked its entry into the all-inclusive segment with the addition of the dusitD2 Feydhoo Maldives in the Maldives. Currently under construction, the 125-room lifestyle resort also marks Dusit’s second property in the Maldives. In January, the group widened its reach in Thailand and added its 15th Dusit-branded hotel in the kingdom and its first property in the country’s far south with the opening of the 132-key Dusit Princess Phatthalung in Phatthalung.
Currently, Dusit’s portfolio consists of 301 properties across 18 countries. This includes 57 properties operating under Dusit Hotels and Resorts and 244 luxury villas under Elite Havens, the luxury villa rental provider which Dusit acquired in 2018. Dusit has 60 more properties in the pipeline.
