Wyndham developing Registry Collection property in Udaipur

Shambhala Hills has signed a membership agreement with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts to develop Nivara Resort & Spa Udaipur, a Registry Collection Hotel, in Rajasthan, India.

The resort will sit beside a historic lake, surrounded by the Aravalli mountains and a biodiversity park. It is designed to appeal to leisure travelers as well as guests seeking a destination for weddings, celebrations, corporate retreats and social events.

Planned facilities include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool, spa and wellness facilities, a banquet hall, landscaped lawns and meeting spaces. Anticipated guest experiences include village horse-riding tours, four-by-four safaris into the biodiversity park, lakeside breakfasts, ziplining, visits to a butterfly park, guided forest treks and birdwatching on the lake.

“Nivara Resort & Spa Udaipur is envisioned as much more than a luxury resort, it is a destination that celebrates the natural beauty, culture and spirit of Rajasthan,” said Dr. Gaurav Sharma, promoter of Shambhala Hills. “The membership agreement with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts enables us to develop the resort under the Registry Collection Hotels brand, combining our vision for this unique property with Wyndham’s global hospitality expertise, distribution capabilities and international platform. Together, this will help us create a destination for travellers, families, weddings, celebrations and corporate retreats from India and around the world.”

“Udaipur is an exceptional destination, with a unique combination of heritage, natural beauty, luxury tourism and a thriving wedding and events market,” said Rahool Macarius, market managing director, Eurasia, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “As travel to the destination continues to grow, Nivara Resort & Spa Udaipur will give travelers a new Registry Collection hotel to discover while offering our more than 126 million Wyndham Rewards members another compelling destination to explore. The project reflects the appeal of our brand portfolio in high-potential destinations, where independently minded hotels can combine a strong sense of place with the reach of a global hospitality platform.”
