Wyndham expands loyalty program offerings with new vacation rentals collection

Wyndham Rewards has added vacation rentals to its loyalty program through a new offering called Homes & Havens. The program’s roughly 129 million enrolled members can now collect and spend points on professionally managed homes and villas.

Wyndham built the offering through new agreements with independent property management and hospitality companies, among them Brightwild, Simpson Travel, StayTerra and Thousand Trails.

The company pointed to steady demand for rentals, especially among groups of family and friends who want more space.

“No two trips are the same, and the best rewards programs should reflect that. Whether it’s a beachfront villa for a family reunion, a mountain retreat for a weekend with friends or just a quick getaway to one of our thousands of hotels, Wyndham Rewards is committed to giving members more ways to earn and redeem on the travel experiences that matter most to them. Homes & Havens is one more step in creating a fully immersive travel rewards experience, one designed to meet members wherever their journey takes them,” said Michael Shiwdin, GVP, integrated marketing, loyalty and digital, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

At launch, the collection lists nearly 800 homes and villas in the U.S., the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe. Wyndham expects to add cabins, yurts and tiny homes in the coming months.

For select villas, members submit a reservation request online and a reservation specialist follows up. Members receive five points for every U.S. dollar spent on qualified bookings. Those nights also count toward the next Member Level, which is Wyndham’s status tier.

Free-night redemptions currently begin at 15,000 points per bedroom, per night. Two higher tiers sit at 30,000 and 45,000 points, and the tier for a given stay depends on the nightly rate per bedroom. Wyndham expects to add a 5,000-point tier as the collection grows.

Members must book redemptions through Wyndham Rewards Member Services at least 60 days ahead. Points cover the base rate only, not taxes, cleaning fees or other mandatory charges. Most properties are expected to accept points, though some will not.

Homes & Havens follows other recent Wyndham Rewards additions: Wyndham Rewards Insider, a revised lineup of Wyndham Rewards Earner credit cards and Wyndham Rewards Experiences, which offers access to live sports, music, festivals and more.
