What’s Hot: Loews Boston completes renovation

Loews Boston Hotel, located in the historic former Boston Police Headquarters building, has completed a US$12 million renovation.

Loews Boston Hotel pays homage to the building’s heritage and the city’s history while introducing a stylish hotel experience that embraces the warmth of home and comforts of modern design.  The renovation included significant changes to guestrooms and suites, the entrance lobby, six meeting rooms and a newly-branded and reimagined restaurant, Precinct Kitchen + Bar, which opened in March.

The redesigned front desk, concierge and lobby area includes a lounge space, Apothecary, where guests can enjoy a range of beverages, comfortable seating, spaces to work, ample outlets and a nine-panel large format video wall.

The hotel’s 222 guestrooms, two luxury suites and Presidential Suite aim to mix historic charm with modern conveniences. Decorated in a mix of cool grays, warm blues and neutrals, guestrooms feature LED Smart TVs, free Wi-Fi and an ergonomic work area.

Precinct Kitchen + Bar promises to serve a unique take on traditional New England cuisine. Designed by Meyer Davis Studio in New York, the restaurant and bar showcase simple rustic elements including butcher block wood, unfinished concrete, classic white subway tiles and hanging copper pots.

The former Lobby Living Room now is the Harrison Room, a mini ballroom that can accommodate up to 100 guests. The hotel’s six meeting rooms have been renamed after well-respected police officers who worked in the building and made a positive impact in the Boston community.
