With plans to open 1,000 Home2 Suites by Hilton in China over the next 30 years, the first has opened in Shenzhen and Hilton shared multiple images to show off what the upper-midscale, extended-stay brand looks like in this dynamic and dynamically changing growth market.

Hilton’s 12th brand in the region, Home2 Suites by Hilton Shenzhen Bao’an, developed in partnership with China’s Funyard Hotels & Resorts, is located in the heart of the Bao’an district of the city and actually marks the brand’s entry into the Asia Pacific theatre. Globally, the 10-year-old brand recently crossed its 500th hotel milestone.

Within a year of the announced strategic partnership between Hilton and Country Garden subsidiary Funyard, a pipeline of more than 60 Home2 Suites properties has been established in major business districts and transportation hubs of China’s first-tier cities, provincial capitals and emerging markets.
In a white paper produced in collaboration with Horwath HTL, Hilton identified that medium to long-stay travelers seek more spacious rooms and the conveniences of home — be it for guests travelling as a family, a couple or with friends, for business, leisure or bleisure — a blend of both. Home2 Suites properties cater to this demand by integrating accommodations with flexible room configurations that offer larger living area, and daily essentials such as microwave ovens and refrigerators.

Designed with a streamlined approach to storage and functionality, the product incorporates a modular kitchenette and a flexible workspace with a “working wall.”
Most Home2 Suites properties in China will offer pet-friendly accommodations, which Hilton said is increasingly important in China where pet ownership is a growing trend.
