Hilton is making it easy for guests to roll out of bed and hit the gym: The company is putting the gym right in the guestroom.
Its “Five Feet to Fitness” concept involves a “fully integrated fitness experience” including a stationary bike, a station with strength, core and suspension training, and the Fitness Kiosk, a touch screen offering videos with tutorials and guided workouts.

The fitness rooms are located in standard-sized rooms and cost about US$45 more than a regular room. The setup offers convenience and personalization, said Ryan Crabbe, senior director of global wellness at the McLean, Virginia-based company. “Five Feet to Fitness has been thoughtfully engineered to serve as a guest’s personal wellness stage, complete with sports performance materials and best-in-class gym accessories. Guests will quickly realize we have gone much further than simply placing a piece of equipment in a room.”
Guests can consider whether to exercise from a meditation chair, also offered in the room, along with blackout shades, a menthol-based muscle rub and protein and hydration options. Three rooms outfitted with the gym are available at Hilton’s Parc 55 San Francisco, and five are in its McLean Tysons Corner hotel. It is planned for U.S. markets including Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Las Vegas, New York and San Diego. The company aims to have 100 such rooms by the end of the year.
