The 59-room Harbour Rocks Hotel in Sydney has unveiled a new look with some very old elements.

The recently completed renovation revealed some of the original architectural features of the building, which served as Sydney’s first hospital and dates to 1887. The design now includes internal brickwork and industrial beams.

The new Wine Bar includes a vintage map of the area. The markings on the walls of Scarlett Restaurant are records of the work of the men who laid the foundations for the main sandstone structure.

The property first became a hotel in 1989, and the most recent renovation project began late last year.
