What’s Hot: Castello di Casole expands wellness center

Castello di Casole, a Timbers resort in Tuscany, has expanded its wellness center into a 5,400-sq-ft (500-sq-m) facility called “Essere” (“to be”).

The new Essere Spa occupies the former wine cellar of the 10th-century castle that houses the hotel, in a space complete with barrel-vaulted ceilings and restored stone walls.

The spa includes a fitness facility, an outdoor garden terrrace for yoga, Pilates and movement classes, private outdoor terraces for relaxation, steam showers, a plunge pool, and seven treatment rooms.

In addition to spa treatments using regional ingredients such as orange, local honey, and Castello di Casole olive oils, Essere Spa offers visits to the natural thermal baths in San Filippo and Saturnia, art therapy classes with a local painter, and guided hikes and bikes on the estate and in local towns.
