What’s Hot: Boston Marriott Copley Place gets makeover

Boston Marriott Copley Place has just completed a five-year renovation project that transformed the entire property.

The hotel’s 1,100 guestrooms and 47 suites all now have the Marriott Hotels & Resorts Refreshing Mint design, with a palette of mint green and chocolate accents and new lighting, artwork, desk chairs, wall coverings, window treatments and bath amenities. Tech improvements include 37” HDTVs and laptop safes.

Public areas all have a fresh new look. In the lobby, the front desk is now just inside the hotel doors; a curved design helps direct guests to check-in.

A new Champions restaurant features a large, central HD screen; more than 40 flat-panel televisions; an open, circular design; 36 beers on tap and a menu of American grill classics. The Concierge Lounge has also been upgraded and expanded.

Some 70,000 sq ft (6,503 sq m) of meeting space was also renovated. The Grand Ballroom now has mahogany millwork, tone-on-tone wall coverings, bronze light fixtures, jewel-tone carpets, and three custom-designed crystal chandeliers. The 22,500-sq-ft (2,090-sq-m) Back Bay Conference and Exhibit Hall can be broken into seven mid-sized meeting rooms. In addition to redoing all pre-existing small- and mid-sized meeting rooms, the project added three new mid-sized meeting spaces to the first floor.
