Westin becomes exclusive hotel sponsor of US Open tennis

WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK As part of a new partnership with the US Open, Starwood Preferred Guest is giving members a chance to win Tickets to the semifinals of the men’s tennis tournament next month in New York. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide’ Westin Hotels & Resorts brand is the official hotel sponsor for the 2010 US Open Tennis Championships.

“Westin is committed to promoting wellness and an active lifestyle, and through our relationship with the US Open we are able to do so in a meaningful way that will resonate with Westin loyalists, while introducing even more travelers to our brand,” says Brian Povinelli, Westin’s vice president of brand management for North America. “We are also proud to support direct access to this premier tennis event via live streaming, which will enable a global audience to enjoy front-row seats while on the road through their computers and mobile devices.”

SPG members who preregister online will be entered to win a pair of tickets to see the men’s singles semifinals in the SPG luxury suite for every two nights they stay at properties in the SPG program through August 22. SPG members can also bid Starpoints for a chance to participate in a tennis clinic with pro James Blake during finals weekend, a visit to the broadcast booth during a US Open match, and behind-the-scenes tours of Arthur Ashe Stadium, all including a pair of tickets to the SPG suite.

SPG members may also choose to redeem 15,000 Starpoints for a pair of tickets to the tournament, including access to the SPG VIP hospitality reception, on August 31.

Special US Open packages will be offered at The Westin New York at Times Square and The Westin Jersey City Newport.
