Vegas Cosmopolitan lets famed artists decorate parking garage

LAS VEGAS The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has given its underground parking garage over to four renowned artists, inviting them to decorate the drab concrete walls in whatever way they see fit.

The “Wallworks” initiative features artwork by Shepard Fairey, Shinique Smith, Kenny Scharf and Retna, with each getting free rein on one of the garage’s four levels using either mural or graffiti stylings.

“We are building an art program that can be appreciated by the most novice guest as well as the most sophisticated critic,” Cosmopolitan CEO John Unwin tells Travel Agent Central. “There is always something new to discover around every corner, even in the parking garage.”
