Electra America and AKA have announced a management transition for two Washington, D.C.-area properties. Hotel AKA Alexandria will transition to an Autograph Collection Hotel by Marriott on June 17, 2026, and Hotel AKA Washington Circle will transition to a Tapestry Collection by Hilton property on June 23, 2026. Concord Hospitality will assume day-to-day management of both properties. AKA will remain involved as co-general partner of the assets.
The transition follows strategic investment and redevelopment by Electra America Hospitality Group, the joint venture between Electra America and AKA. Hotel AKA Alexandria was designed by architect Piero Lissoni in his first U.S. hotel project and received Interior Design Magazine’s 2023 “Best of the Year” Award for “Best Domestic Hotel Transformation.” Hotel AKA Washington Circle, formerly a student housing property in Foggy Bottom, was redeveloped by architecture and design firm Gensler, adding new public spaces, updated accommodations and revised food and beverage programming.
“We’re incredibly proud of the hospitality experiences we built at both Hotel AKA Alexandria and Hotel AKA Washington Circle,” said Larry Korman, CEO of AKA. “The Washington, D.C. market has long been central to AKA’s growth and identity, anchored by the continued success of AKA White House and our longstanding leadership in luxury long-stay accommodations. These properties reflect our commitment to thoughtful design, residential-style living and personalized service that resonates with today’s traveler. As we continue expanding the AKA brand, we remain focused on growing in key gateway markets, including South Florida, where we see strong opportunity for the type of offerings AKA is known for.”
“Our ownership approach has centered on thoughtful investment and long-term positioning,” said Russ Urban, principal and CEO at Electra America Hospitality Group. “In partnership with AKA, we successfully elevated both properties into highly competitive hospitality assets. These hotels are exceptionally well positioned for their next phase.”
