Tulsa Crowne Plaza to become Hyatt Regency

TULSA, OKLAHOMA The 455-key Crowne Plaza Tulsa, acquired at an August foreclosure auction for US$11 million, is getting a renovation that will convert it to a Hyatt Regency as of January 1.

Owner Argonaut Private Equity will invest an unspecified amount toward improvements as part of the rebranding. The property, which will become the only full-service Hyatt-branded property in Oklahoma, will be operated and managed by Dallas-based Aimbridge Hospitality under franchise agreement. Aimbridge took over management of the hotel at the start of this year.

Featuring 38,000 sq. ft. of conference facilities, Hyatt Regency Tulsa will also offer a day spa, a StayFit Hyatt gym, an outdoor swimming pool and a 24-hour business center.

Argonaut Private Equity is an investment arm of the George Kaiser Family Foundation. “We are very pleased the foundation made an investment in this downtown Tulsa hotel,” says Ken Levit, executive director of the foundation. “We believe the hotel, under the Hyatt brand and Aimbridge management, will help further the growth of our entire community.”
