Trump Entertainment hires David Hughes as new CFO

ATLANTIC CITY Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. has named David R. Hughes its new chief financial officer, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Hughes is expected to assume the position by January, following regulatory approvals and the conclusion of his current role as corporate executive vice president and CFO for MTR Gaming Group Inc. He is the second MTR executive to join Trump Entertainment since its emergence from bankruptcy earlier this year; last month, MTR President Robert Griffin took over as CEO of the company.

This is not Hughes’ first stint with Trump Entertainment. He served in various management capacities at Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in the early 1990s.

Hughes replaces John Burke, who resigned as CFO last year. He will earn a base salary of US$525,000.

Trump Entertainment is the 261st largest hotel company by number of rooms, according to HOTELS’ 325, the annual ranking of the world’s hotel companies that appears in this month’s issue.
