The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts announced the rebranding of its recently acquired retreat in Coorg as The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary. The property is set on 76 acres of forest and coffee plantation land in the Western Ghats.
The announcement coincides with The Leela’s fortieth year of operation. The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary is described by the company as one of its most nature-focused properties within its portfolio of palaces, hotels and resorts.
The retreat is located within one of Coorg’s coffee estates and holds IGBC Platinum certification. The property includes 71 villas, among them duplex, family and private pool configurations, along with a four-bedroom residence called the Sunbeam Presidential Villa.
Guest activities listed include forest walks, plantation trails, birdwatching, waterfall visits, cycling routes and stargazing.
Dining options include Luma, an all-day restaurant on the property’s lake, and Zen, which serves Pan-Asian cuisine. Additional venues include The Cellar and 92 Degrees, a coffee-focused space. The property also offers an “Estate to Brew” program combining estate walks, tastings and coffee-related information sessions.
The property includes a seven-acre lake and a private helipad. Wellness facilities include a 27,000-square-foot wellness center operating under the company’s Aujasya by The Leela program, along with outdoor treatment areas and a yoga deck referred to as the Vinyasa Yoga Deck.
