Host Hotels and Resorts and GIC Real Estate, the real estate investment arm of the Government of Singapore Investment Corp., have purchased the Citigate Perth Hotel for US$61 million, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will manage the property under its Four Points by Sheraton brand, the West Australian reported.
The agreement marks Starwood’s return to Perth following the expiration of the management contract at Perth’s Sheraton Hotel — now Pan Pacific Perth — 18 months ago.
The eight-story, 277-room hotel will undergo a comprehensive refurbishment, and the rebranded property is expected to open June 1.
