Starwood offers loyalty points for Earth Hour pledges

WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK Starwood Preferred Guest is giving away 100 Starpoints to any SPG member who pledges to participate in Earth Hour on March 26.

Participants are asked to promise to turn off their lights from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. local time as a way to reduce energy consumption. SPG members can pledge to do so on a dedicated microsite, and Starwood will credit their accounts with 100 extra points by April 15.

“Join the more than 500 Starwood hotels and resorts around the world that will be observing Earth Hour this year,” says a note on the microsite. “It’s a small commitment to the environment we all can keep. Together, we can make a bold statement against climate change.”
