Start the clock: Hotel promises meals in 5, 10, 20 minutes

Washington Marriott in the Foggy Bottom area of Washington, D.C., is offering guests fresh, chef-crafted fare guaranteed to be ready in 5, 10 or 20 minutes.

The menu, part of the hotel’s greater lobby experience, includes 5-minute offerings such as hummus with flatbread and celery, housemade chips with cucumber and curry dip and edamame with sea salt.

Ten-minute dishes include artichoke-Parmesan fritters with roasted garlic mayonnaise, quesadillas with guacamole and salsa and an Angus burger with aged cheddar, bacon and fries.

Entrees such as jumbo lump crab cakes with Old Bay remoulade, Angus meatloaf with horseradish and mashed potatoes and an Asian sampler featuring miso-seared salmon, Thai chicken skewers, hoisin vegetables and Asian salad are all ready within 20 minutes.

The flexible lobby also offers places to plug in devices, Internet access and seating for groups as well as individuals.
