Six Senses opens AMAALA resort on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Coast

IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened Six Senses AMAALA, marking the brand’s second property in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea.

The resort sits within AMAALA, a wellness destination spanning more than 1,600 square miles of protected Red Sea coastline between desert peaks and coral reef-lined coves. The property is set between beaches and a mangrove-fringed lagoon, with a clifftop mesa at its center.

The property includes 100 suites and villas and 25 branded residences inspired by traditional Saudi coastal architecture and hospitality.

“At Six Senses, we have always believed that the moments people remember most are rarely the ones they planned,” said Neil Palmer, COO of Six Senses. “They are the conversations that last longer than expected, the shared meals, the quiet discoveries, and the feeling of having time for one another again. AMAALA has given us an extraordinary ocean-front setting to bring that philosophy to life. Here, well-being is woven naturally into each day, allowing our guests and our residence owners to slow down, reconnect, and experience the Red Sea in a way that feels deeply human. As our second destination in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following the opening of the magnificent Six Senses Southern Dunes in 2023, Six Senses AMAALA represents a new chapter for the brand, where hospitality and regeneration come together to shape a more meaningful way to travel and live.”

“Opening within AMAALA, a new wellness destination on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, is a rare opportunity,” said Bryce Seator, general manager of Six Senses AMAALA. “We’ve shaped the experience with intention from the start, guided by one simple idea: that guests leave feeling better than when they arrived. To do this in a place where Saudi hospitality runs through every detail of how we operate is something our whole team feels lucky to be part of.”
