Sheraton Philadelphia University City Hotel has completed a $60+ million renovation, unveiling updated guest rooms, redesigned public spaces, new meeting amenities and the debut of the brand’s signature &More Café. The University of Pennsylvania funded the transformation.
The renovation, designed by Gensler, covers all 332 guest rooms and suites with new furnishings, lighting and workspaces. Public areas include a library-inspired lobby with communal seating and meeting pods with integrated A/V capabilities. A new multi-use outdoor terrace accommodates meetings, social gatherings, fitness programming and seasonal events. The property offers more than 11,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

“With the completion of this renovation, we’re excited to welcome guests back to a completely refreshed Sheraton Philadelphia University City Hotel,” said Michael Bennett, general manager. “These enhancements reflect our commitment to providing a premium experience for the many travelers who visit the area, from individuals and families drawn by West Philadelphia’s world-class higher-education and healthcare institutions to corporate groups and event attendees.”
Sheraton’s signature food and beverage concept, &More Café, offers morning coffee, light fare, and evening cocktails for hotel guests and local visitors.
“This investment reflects Penn’s commitment to supporting University City’s continued growth,” said Michael D. Scales, vice president of the Division of Business Services. “Modernizing a key asset like the Sheraton enhances the visitor experience and supports ongoing economic activity.”
The hotel is located near the University of Pennsylvania campus, its medical complex and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
