Sacco leaves Starwood for Pyramid

Paul Sacco, most recently head of North American development for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, has joined Pyramid Hotel Group as senior vice president of the business development. In his new role, Sacco will help lead the hotel acquisitions, management and asset management growth.

“We are positioned for exceptional growth as one of the industry’s most dynamic management companies, and I am confident Paul will help us accelerate our footprint in North America with great partners and hotels,” said Warren Fields, partner and chief investment officer for Pyramid.

Over a nine-year span with Starwood, Thursday’s press release claims Sacco helped drive Starwood’s growth by 143% from 228 to 554 hotels, as well as in launch the Aloft Hotels and Element by Westin brands.

Previously, Sacco worked in various leadership positions in global sales, operations, and development for Swissotel, US Franchise Systems and Omni Hotels. He began his career in the hospitality industry as national director of sales for Omni.
