Ruby Hotels has opened Ruby Frida in Stockholm’s Kungsholmen district, marking the brand’s first property in Sweden. The 187-room hotel is housed in a transformed 1960s building and is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio.
The hotel’s design references Stockholm’s music culture of the 1960s, including the area’s connection to Cheiron Studios. Interiors feature warm wood finishes, geometric forms, vintage-inspired details, curated vinyl references and layered lighting. In-room amenities include Marshall amplifiers and Bluetooth speakers, while a 24-hour bar serves cocktails and barista coffee.
“Ruby Frida is closely connected to Stockholm’s creative spirit, with a design and atmosphere shaped by the city’s music heritage,” said Michael Struck, CEO and founder of Ruby Group. “It’s crafted to feel authentic to the city and easy to enjoy a place that feels open, social and full of character, where guests and locals can come together and experience a place with real personality.”

The property is located near Fridhemsplan, minutes from Stockholm Central Station via public transport and approximately 40 minutes from Stockholm Arlanda Airport by car. Guest rooms are available in Cosy, Lovely and Wow categories.
“At Ruby, every hotel starts with the city,” said Lauren Krostue, vice president of Global Brand Management at Ruby. “With Ruby Frida, Stockholm’s creative rhythm has artfully been translated into design, where every detail draws from the city’s music heritage and cultural energy, while Ruby’s signature elements keep the experience characterful and unmistakably Ruby around the world.”
Ruby Frida’s development, design and operations are managed by Ruby Group, the independent company that created the Ruby brand before selling it to IHG in 2025. Ruby currently has 40 open and pipeline global properties, with a next opening planned at Ruby Lilou in Marseille in late summer 2026.
