GUADALAJARA, MEXICO Riu Hotels & Resorts has opened its first urban hotel in Mexico, in the city of Guadalajara, the second property under its nascent Riu Plaza brand.
The 557-key Riu Plaza Guadalajara debuts nine months after the upper-upscale brand’s launch in Panama City. Located in a 42-story building in the heart of the city, the hotel offers 48,000 sq. ft. of event space, including 16 conference rooms.
The hotel’s F&B offerings are highlighted by Chardonnay, featuring a menu that fuses Jalisco and Spanish cuisines. The Dreams lobby bar includes traditional hors d’oeuvres, while the international restaurant, Decapolis, features a full breakfast buffet. The Blue Moon lounge bar located in the pool area offers a menu of hors d’oeuvres and international cuisine.
