Redefine Hotels and BDL Management announced on Thursday that the companies are merging to become Redefine BDL Hotels.
Registered in the British Virgin Islands and retaining offices in both London and Glasgow, Redefine BDL Hotels will manage a combined portfolio of 60 hotels in the U.K., South Africa and Liberia, with an annual turnover of over £200 million (US$304 million). Redefine BDL operates hotels under IHG, Wyndham Worldwide, Hilton Worldwide, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, and Best Western International franchises, with 21 of its hotels are under IHG’s Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands.
The company said the merger provides a stronger financial and operational platform for growth.
“We view this merger as an extremely positive transaction for both companies, a strategic move which will enable us to be one step ahead of the trend for consolidation in Europe, mirroring what we are witnessing over in North America,” said Helder Pereira, managing director for Redefine BDL Hotels.
