Raffles Hotels debuts in Saudi Arabia with Mecca opening

MECCA, SAUDI ARABIA The 213-key Raffles Makkah Palace is now open in Mecca’s new Abraj Al Bait complex, a seven-tower community directly adjoining the Masjid Al Haram—or Grand Mosque—and the Kaaba.

The design of the hotel draws inspiration from the heritage and culture of the Middle East, while keeping with Raffles Hotels & Resorts’ style of having each hotel reflect its destination.

Raffles Makkah Palace includes four restaurants. The Raffles Creamery presents bespoke Teppanyaki ice cream on an open terrace overlooking the Haram. Narjes, a stylish tea salon, offers a collection of colorful tea flavors and roasted coffee from all over the world. Al Majlis serves Middle Eastern cuisine, also on an open terrace, while Al Qasr combines between Moroccan, Arabic and Indian tastes.

In addition to employing a coffee sommelier, Raffles Makkah Palace provides 24-hour butler service for every suite.
