BANGKOK Carlson announces the signing of Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Bangkok, Sukhumvit.
The 290-key hotel is owned by G&P Asset Holdings, a major property owner in Thailand. The property is under construction and will open in the fourth quarter of 2013.
“This exciting addition of the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Bangkok aligns with our plans to expand Radisson Blu as a vibrant, contemporary and engaging first-class brand in Asia Pacific,” says Simon Barlow, president of Carlson Hotels in Asia Pacific.
The hotel is located near Soi 27 on Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok’s prime commercial, entertainment and shopping district. The hotel is near the Phom Phong and Asoke Bangkok Mass Transit System Skytrains and the Sukhumvit Mass Rapid Transit station.
The hotel will feature 266 guestrooms and 24 suites designed by local architectural firm Inter Akitek Co. Ltd., with noted local interior design firm P49 Deesign. The property will include an outdoor swimming pool, a full-service spa and a state-of-the-art fitness center, along with an all-day dining restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, a rooftop Italian restaurant and wine bar, a pool bar, a café and a business club lounge. Events facilities will include a grand ballroom, a multi-purpose function room and six boardrooms.
Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Bangkok, Sukhumvit is Carlson’s sixth hotel in Thailand, jining Radisson Blu Plaza Resort Phuket Panwa Beach, Radisson Suites Bangkok Sukhumvit, Park Plaza Sukhumvit Bangkok and Park Plaza Bangkok Soi 18. Currently under development is Radisson Blu Resort Hua Hin.
