Potomac Hospitality unveils new boutique Modus brand

WASHINGTON, D.C. Hotel management company Potomac Hospitality Services has launched a branding effort for its collection of boutique business properties, called Modus Hotels.

“For three years we have been building this new scalable organization, with an aggressive proactive direct sales team, a savvy finance organization, a sophisticated revenue management team and a guest experience focused operations staff to improve the profitability of our hotels and position ourselves for future growth,” says Aaron Katz, president of Modus and Potomac.

Modus is meant to provide enhanced cross-selling capabilities for owners of Potomac-managed hotels. “With Modus Hotels, we have created a brand promise: to allow our guests to be themselves with warm and mindful environments for work, for pleasure or for relaxation, but without attitude or pretention,” Katz says.

Unlike many hotel brands in the boutique space, Modus is focused less on design and more on a residential atmosphere. Modus properties embrace their location and surroundings, offering guests genuine service provided by caring and highly dedicated, personable staff, according to Potomac.

Of the initial 10 Modus properties, eight are in the Washington, D.C. market, along with one in Philadelphia and another in Chicago. They are:

  • The Windsor Suites, Philadelphia
  • Comfort Suites Chicago
  • One Washington Circle Hotel
  • George Washington University Inn
  • 2424 Penn
  • The River Inn
  • The Quincy Hotel
  • Hotel Monticello of Georgetown
  • Washington Suites Georgetown
  • Virginian Suites, Rosslyn, Virginia

Later this year, Modus will unveil Avenue Suites, the converted and repositioned Washington Suites Georgetown, into a more upscale boutique hotel with a contemporary lobby, new guest rooms, enhanced amenities and new façade.
