Marriott International has named Sharilyn Abbajay vice president of global spas and retail. Her job history includes executive positions with Neill Corp. and Aveda Corp., Elizabeth Arden Salons and Noelle, a division of the Gillette Co.
Interstate Hotels & Resorts has appointed Edward Blum to the position of executive vice president of development and acquisitions. He joins Interstate from Molinaro Koger, an international hotel real estate advisory firm, where he served as global head of capital markets.
Barbara Readey has been named general manager of Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay, which is on schedule to complete a US$31 million renovation next month. Readey led unveilings of both Denver Marriott Tech Center and Renaissance St. Louis after their respective overhauls.
