Debbie Taylor has been elected president of the Hospitality & Real Estate Group and a member of the Corporate Operating Committee of Kohler Co. Taylor joined Kohler Co. as managing director of The Old Course Ltd. in September 2007.

Marriott International has named Sharilyn Abbajay vice president of global spas and retail. Her job history includes executive positions with Neill Corp. and Aveda Corp., Elizabeth Arden Salons and Noelle, a division of the Gillette Co.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts has appointed Edward Blum to the position of executive vice president of development and acquisitions. He joins Interstate from Molinaro Koger, an international hotel real estate advisory firm, where he served as global head of capital markets. 

Barbara Readey has been named general manager of Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay, which is on schedule to complete a US$31 million renovation next month. Readey led unveilings of both Denver Marriott Tech Center and Renaissance St. Louis after their respective overhauls.

Lockwood Restaurant, located inside the historic Palmer House Hilton, Chicago, has appointed Chef Greg Elliott as the new executive chef. Elliott most recently served as executive chef of Brannan’s Grill, a seasonal wine country cuisine-focused restaurant in Calistoga, California.

The Pfister Hotel, Milwaukee, has named Anthony DeFelippis its new director of operations. DeFilippis has worked for Princess Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean International and Ritz-Carlton Hotels, among others.

Riza Elibol has been appointed the general manager of Swissôtel Grand Efes, Izmir, Turkey. He was previously GM of InterContinental Almaty Hotel, Kazakhstan.

Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts has appointed Jack Breisacher as general manager of Swissôtel Beijing. Breisacher moves to Beijing from Chicago, where he was most recently hotel manager of Swissôtel Chicago.

Robert Purdy, most recently general manager of Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center, has been named general manager of Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort and Spa, Colorado.

Hyatt Regency Newport Hotel & Spa has appointed Kyle Ketchum as executive chef. Ketchum previously consulted with restaurants and hotels throughout New England and was executive chef at Spiced Pear at The Chanler at Cliffwalk.

The Villa Group Resorts Collection has appointed Paul Moreno as general manager and director of operations of Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto in Mexico. Previously, Moreno served as vice president of operations at Bajamex Commercial Real Estate and Consulting.

The Trump Ocean Club International Hotel & Tower Panama in Punta Pacifica has appointed Thierry Baurez as director of sales and marketing, a role he previously held for three years at Casa Dorada Los Cabos in Mexico. Sam Basu, the new director of operations, joins Trump Ocean Club from the Rio Mar Beach Golf Resort, Casino & Spa in Puerto Rico, where he had served as resort manager since 2007. Angelo Rios, director of finance, served as financial controller or acting financial controller for three Fairmont hotels, most recently Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa in Sonoma, California.
