Here is a roundup of people recently on the move:

Hilton Worldwide has appointed Carlos Baruki as regional vice president, sales and marketing, for Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. Baruki most recently served as vice president, sales, marketing and revenue management, for Latin America and the Caribbean at InterContinental Hotels Group.

Dolce Hotels and Resorts in Rockleigh, New Jersey, has appointed Miguel Batista as director of development for North America. He most recently was director of acquisitions and development for Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group LLC in the company’s New York office.

The Renaissance Blackstone Chicago Hotel has appointed Wendell Bush as general manager. Bush comes to the property from The Omni Fort Worth Hotel, which he joined as opening hotel manager in 2009.

The University of West London has installed alumnus Laurence Geller as its new chancellor. Geller is president and CEO of Strategic Hotels & Resorts, Chicago.

Capella Pedregal in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, has appointed Shirley Dunn Hanks as director of sales and marketing. Hanks most recently worked as the director of sales and marketing for Rosewood Hotel’s the Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas. 

Bret Jones has joined White Lodging as the general manager of the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in Tampa, Florida. Jones most recently was employed by the Front Burner Restaurant Group.

Kahala Hotel & Resort in Honolulu has named Charles Keegan as director of catering and conference services. Keegan had been manager of catering and conference services.

The Renaissance Blackstone Chicago Hotel has appointed Melanie Koscelnak as director of sales and marketing. Koscelnak joins the property from The Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel, where she also was director of sales and marketing.

Kahala Hotel & Resort in Honolulu has appointed Stuart Kotake as director of food and beverage. Kotake joined the hotel’s catering and conference services department in 2006. Prior to that, he worked at Walt Disney World in Orlando as catering and conference services manager.

Zeki Ozal has been named resident manager at Pangu 7 Star Hotel Beijing. Previously Ozal was the director of operations at The Presidential Beijing.

Sven Wiedenhaupt has been appointed general manager at the Four Seasons Damascus in Damascus, Syria. Wiedenhaupt has spent several years as part of the Four Seasons family, three years at Four Seasons Hotel New York as director of food and beverage followed by three years at Four Seasons flagship Qatar property.
