Mete Atakuman has been appointed general manager at the Jumeirah Bilgah Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan. Atakuman’s previous experience includes senior operational roles at hotel chains such as Hyatt, Hillside, Starwood, Accor, IHG and Hilton.
The Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, has named Manuel De Luca executive chef. De Luca comes to the property after six years at the Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center, including three years as the executive sous chef for the Park Tower, part of the brand’s Luxury Collection.
Sylvain Ercoli has been appointed general manager of the Bulgari Hotel and Residences in Knightsbridge, London, effective July 1. Ercoli comes from Raffles Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris, where he was also general manager.
Joseph Ferragamo has been appointed food and beverage manager at InterContinental Mark Hopkins in San Francisco. Ferragamo’s previous experience includes banquet roles at hotels in Boston including Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers, Le Meridien Hotel, the Boston Harbor Hotel and the InterContinental Boston.
Boston-based Pyramid Hotel Group has hired Richard Holtzman to lead its new resort division, Pyramid Resort Group, as senior vice president, resort operations. Prior to joining Pyramid, Holtzman was vice president of DMB, an Arizona-based real estate company.
Marlene Macaluso has been appointed general manager at Hilton Garden Inn Jackson Downtown in Jackson, Mississippi. Macaluso most recently served as general manager of Hilton Garden Inn French Quarter/Central Business District in New Orleans.
John Murphy has been hired as general manager of The Woodmark Hotel, Yacht Club & Spa in Kirkland, Washington. Prior, Murphy managed operations for multiple properties within the Columbia Hospitality portfolio, including Salish Lodge, University of Puget Sound, Bell Harbor International Conference Center, Seattle World Trade Center and Cedarbrook Lodge & Conference Center.
Driftwood Hospitality Management in North Palm Beach, Florida, has appointed Brian Quinn as executive vice president and principal – development. Previously, Quinn served as vice president, upscale development, for IHG, overseeing growth of the Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo brands across markets including the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.
Greg Rizzi has been named general manager at The Hotel Wilshire in Los Angeles. Rizzi has previously served as general manager for several properties along the California coast, from The Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco to La Jolla Shores Hotel near San Diego.
Ursula Schofel has been appointed general manager at the Sheraton Maldives in Male, Maldives. Schoefl recently served as hotel manager at Le Méridien Chiang Mai and deputy general manager at Sheraton Lagos Hotel & Towers, in Lagos, Nigeria.
Pan Pacific Hotels Group has appointed Scott Sutliff manager, global sales, for North America. Sutliff most recently served as director of business travel sales at Omni San Francisco.
