Here is a roundup of people on the move during the week of February 14, 2011:

ResortCom International has named Enrique Aguirre as vice president of resort operations for Latin America. Aguirre will oversee properties in Mexico for Tapestry Resorts and LaTour Hotels and Resorts. His previous positions have included Royal Holiday’s chief quality officer and RCI’s director for product development in Latin America.

Alex Alt has been promoted to the position of senior vice president of global development and strategy for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, and Ralph Aruzza has been named vice president of sales and marketing. Alt was most recently vice president of development and strategy. Aruzza was most recently vice president of sales.

Aliso Viejo, California-based Sunstone Hotel Investors Inc. has appointed John Arabia chief financial officer. Arabia has been managing director of research and consulting firm Green Street Advisors Inc. in Newport Beach, California, heading its real estate research group.

Raffles Hotels & Resorts has appointed Diana Banks as vice president, sales and marketing. Most recently, banks was vice president of sales and marketing – Europe, Middle East and Africa at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.

San Diego-based Trigild has named John Beazley as managing director, hospitality. Prior to joining Trigild, Beazley was executive vice president of Pacifica Hotel Co.

The Fairmont Dallas has welcomed Valerie Cooper as director, food and beverage. Cooper was most recently assistant director, food and beverage, for the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Centre, Atlanta.

Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi, has promoted Mike Davis to director of hotel sales and marketing. Davis joined Beau Rivage in 1999 in a hotel sales manager position. In 2002, he was promoted to assistant director. Prior to joining Beau Rivage, Davis served as senior sales manager for Grand Casinos in Gulfport, Biloxi and Tunica, Mississippi.

Fairmont Chateau Laurier has named Alain Gobeil executive chef. His most recent position was executive sous chef at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi.

Tina Harlow has been appointed chief executive officer of The Resort at Paws Up,  Greenough, Montana. She was most recently general manager at Ventana Inn & Spa in Big Sur, California.

The Delafield Hotel in Wisconsin has named Philip Lane as general manager. Lane was a member of the senior management team at The Cloister at Sea Island in Sea Island, Georgia, during the property’s US$350 million upgrade, in addition to holding a seat on the executive committee at the Ross Bridge Renaissance in Birmingham, Alabama.

InterContinental Bora Bora Le Moana Resort has promoted Laurence Levy to the position of general manager of the resort. She most recently was assistant manager.

Dagan Lynn has been appointed executive chef of The Westin Houston Memorial City. Lynn’s most recent endeavor was as executive chef of the W Retreat & Spa on Vieques Island, Puerto Rico.

Rami Moukarzel has been appointed director, development, Europe, Middle East and Africa for Fairmont Raffles Hotels International. His most recent position was senior manager, development, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria at San Stefano in Egypt has appointed Massimiliano Musto as general manager. In 2008, Musto was appointed resort manager of the Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita before moving to Egypt to become hotel manager of Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria at San Stefano in 2009.

The Fairmont San Jose has appointed Carlo Nardi as general manager. Most recently, he was the hotel’s director of operations.

Christophe Piffaretti has taken on the role of vice president, development, Europe, for Fairmont Raffles Hotels International. Piffaretti has spent most of his career in hotel real estate and development.

HEI Hotels & Resorts has named Michael Platt general manager of the Hilton Long Beach & Executive Meeting Center in California; James Garcia general manager of the Embassy Suites Irvine – Orange County Airport in California; Pradeep Bobba general manager of the Le Méridien San Francisco; and Brian Murphy general manager of the Fullerton Marriott at California State University.

Rajiv Ranjan has been named general manager of The Orchid Pune, Balewadi, in India. He has worked with Jaypee Palace Hotels, Agra; The Regent, Mumbai; The Taj Lands End, Mumbai; Lavasa Corp.; and St Laurn Hotels in Pune.

Craig Reaume has taken on the role of general manager at The Fairmont Vancouver Airport. In 2008, Reaume joined Fairmont in his most recent role as hotel manager at The Fairmont Royal York.

Glenda Simmons has been appointed general manager of The Michelangelo, New York City. Simmons spent 14 years as hotel manager at The Michelangelo.

Steven Stefaniuk is the new director, food and beverage, at The Fairmont Southampton, Bermuda. He was most recently director, food and beverage, at The Fairmont Banff Springs.

Executive Chef Steven Sterritt has joined Wuksachi Lodge in Sequoia National Park, California. Previously, he served as executive chef at The Lodge & Conference Center at Geneva-on-the-Lake in Ohio. Both properties are managed by Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts.

Eddy Tannous is the new director of rooms at Fairmont Dubai. Tannous was most recently the hotel’s director, sales and marketing.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts has announced its Shanghai-based senior operating team for its Interstate China Hotels & Resorts Co. Ltd., a joint venture between Interstate Hotels & Resorts and Shanghai Jin Jiang International Hotels Co. Ltd. The team includes Chris van der Baars, chief operating officer; David Kasten, chief financial officer; Roger Fung, executive vice president – hotel operations; and D.C. Becker, senior vice president – sales and marketing. 

Jacco Van Teeffelen is the new director, food and beverage, at The Savoy, a Fairmont-managed hotel. He joins The Savoy from his most recent role as resort manager for an upscale property in the Maldives.

Sean Walwyn has been named area director, sales and marketing, Africa, for Fairmont Raffles Hotels International. He joined Fairmont in 2008 in his most recent position as group director, sales and marketing, East Africa.
