People on the Move: Sage, Rosewood, Shinta Mani

Sage Hotel Management, a Sage Hospitality Group company, announced that Robert Butler has rejoined the team as executive vice president. Butler left Sage in 2018 after a 14-year tenure in various operational leadership positions, culminating in his role as senior vice president of operations.

Butler’s career in hospitality spans more than 30 years, where he has demonstrated the ability to lead hotel teams to deliver exceptional performance. He returns to Sage after spending nearly four years at Crescent Hotels, Fairfax, Virginia, as executive vice president of operations.

In his new role, Butler will have total oversight of Sage’s Upscale and Premier Collections, which encompass more than 40 soft-branded, branded full-service and branded upscale hotels in 14 states.

Corporate Management

Hard Rock International, Hollywood, Florida, has appointed Patricia Lerner as account director, global business transient sales. Most recently, Lerner was senior account executive at Marriott International in New York City.

Vacasa, Portland, Oregon, announced that Rob Greyber will be its next chief executive officer. Greyber recently served as president of Egencia, Seattle, Washington.

General Managers and Managing Directors

The Gant Aspen has welcomed Chantaye Avery as director of reservations and revenue strategy. Previously, Avery worked as regional director of revenue management for Hospitality Ventures Management Group, Atlanta, Georgia.

Remington Hotels, Dallas, Texas, has appointed Yanti Blackard as general manager of the Hampton Inn Atlanta-Mall of Georgia in Buford, Georgia, where she had been serving as assistant general manager since 2020.

Grace Bay Resorts, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, has appointed Franck Chantoiseau general manager of Rock House. Chantoiseau joins after five years with Aman Resorts, most recently, as general manager at the Surin Phuket, Thailand.

Hilton Garden Inn Austin University Capitol District, Texas, has welcomed Michael Deutsch as general manager. Most recently, Deutsch served as general manager at Sheraton Bucks County Langhorne in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

Rosewood Hotel Group, Hong Kong, China, has appointed Thomas Harlander as managing director and director of project services for Rosewood Amsterdam. Previously, Harlander served as managing director at Rosewood Bangkok, Thailand.

Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Bali, Indonesia, has named Masanori Hosoya as general manager. Previously, Hosoya served as general manager at The Ritz-Carlton Nikko, Japan.

Aloft Chicago Mag Mile, Illinois, has welcomed Tyler Hutton as general manager. Hutton joins from the W Chicago, where he most recently served as director of rooms.

C Lazy U Ranch, Colorado, has selected Paul Klees as general manager. Klees has worked for C Lazy U in numerous capacities throughout his 15 years tenure, including assistant general manager and director of operations.

Pierre Kranzle has been appointed general manager of the Hilton Monterrey, Mexico. Most recently, Kranzle led the opening of Hilton Guadalajara Midtown, Mexico, serving as general manager.

Pine Cay, Turks and Caicos Islands, has named Christian and Sandrine Langlade as general manager and assistant general manager. With six decades of hospitality experience between them, the Langlades have held titles at some of the most renowned properties across the Caribbean, including Christopher St Barths, Le Sereneo, Silversands Grenada and Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados.

Sable at Navy Pier, a Curio Collection by Hilton developed by Maverick Hotels & Restaurants, Chicago, Illinois, has appointed Randy Romero as general manager. Most recently, he served as general manager of the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City, California.

Food & Beverage

The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara, California, has appointed five new chefs: Bryon Lopez, as sous chef of ‘O’ Bar + Kitchen; Joshua Kellim, as restaurant chef of Angel Oak; Leonard Gensolin, as restaurant chef of The Bistro and Bar de Vino; Christine Rosell as pastry chef; and Erik Sandven as banquet chef. Lopez joins after a stint at the Four Seasons Biltmore, also in Santa Barbara, where Kellim was chef de cuisine and Gensolin helmed the kitchen. Rossell was pastry chef at the Sheraton Grand Wild Horse Pass, Chandler, Arizona.  Sandven has experience across Ritz-Carlton properties, RAYA and Newport Coast Resort at Pelican Hill, California.

Sales & Marketing

Stephanie Andrade has been appointed as group director of sales for Shinta Mani Hotels, Bangkok, Thailand. Andrade joins from Muze, Ecuador, where she was partner and global vice president of sales.

James Karabelas has been appointed as regional vice president of sales and marketing for Highgate Hawaii, Honolulu. Previously, Karabelas served as vice president of marketing at Aqua-Aston Hospitality, Hawaii.

Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, Florida, announced Nikki Leiba as its new sales manager. Leiba joins from Hyatt Centric Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she was front office manager.

Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort, Hawaii, has welcomed Austin Watkins as director of sales and marketing. Previously, Watkins held the position of managing director of marketing and hospitality sales at Timbers Resorts, Winter Park, Florida.

Hilton Garden Inn Austin University Capitol District, Texas, has welcomed Becky Lister as director of sales and marketing. Most recently, Lister served as the area director of sales at Hilton properties across Texas including Hampton Inn & Suites Buda, Hampton Inn & Suites Waco South, and Comfort Suites Buda.

Other

BH2I, Singapore, announced that Michael Evanoff has joined the firm as senior counsel. Evanoff’s previous experience includes a 20-year career at Hyatt as general counsel, vice president development and general counsel, and senior vice president and general counsel.
