People on the move: Raffles, Langham, Remington

Philippe Leboeuf has been named managing director of Raffles London at The OWO (Old War Office Building), London. Most recently, Leboeuf was regional vice president of operations for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and general manager of Mandarin Oriental Paris, positions he held since 2013 and 2010 respectively. He brings over 30 years of experience operating luxury hotels to the role.

“Leboeuf is a seasoned hotel operator, an incredible leader and with his international experience, I am confident both Raffles London and The OWO will become one of the world’s leading hospitality destinations. He brings a unique skill set to the role, and will offer guests the highly personalized and intuitive service that Raffles is renowned for,” said Madani Sow, chief executive officer, Westminster Development Services Ltd.

As managing director of Raffles London at The OWO, Leboeuf will be responsible for overseeing and executing operations for the London flagship Raffles property, one of the hospitality industry’s most significant global openings in 2022. Having undergone a monumental transformation over the last five years, The OWO also comprises 85 Raffles branded residences, a collection of nine restaurants and bars, and an immersive spa.

Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas announced the appointment of its new general manager, Pascal Bertrand, who joins from the general manager position at the Legends Hotel Mauritius.

Accor has announced the appointment of Indu Brar as senior vice president, customer technology services, North & Central America. Brar most recently served as general manager for the historic Fairmont Empress in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Horwath HTL consulting announced the launch of a brand-new practice covering the key markets of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. This new enterprise is the brainchild of Christian BuerBrigitte Gruber and Heinz Wehrle, who are joining forces to form Horwath HTL, DACH.

Remington Hotels, Dallas, Texas, announced the appointment of Willis Cheng as senior vice president of business development. Cheng comes to Remington Hotels from Evolution Hospitality, San Clemente, California, where he served as vice president of business development for three years.

San Manuel Casino, Highland, California, announced Everton Clarke and Matthew Smith as executive chefs. Clarke most recently worked as the opening executive chef at JW Marriott Minneapolis, Minnesota, and opening chef at JW Marriott Dubai, UAE. Smith joins San Manuel Casino from his position as executive chef at Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii.

Nobu Hotel Chicago, Illinois, announced the appointment of Rhonda Drury to director of sales and marketing. Drury joins Nobu Hotel Chicago from Cambria Hotels, Maryland, where she most recently served as sales operations manager.

Ventana Big Sur, California, announced the appointment of Anthony Duggan as area vice president and general manager. Prior to joining Ventana Big Sur, Duggan served as area vice president and general manager at Miraval Austin Wellness Resort & Spa, Austin, Texas.

McKibbon Hospitality, Tampa, Florida, announced the appointment of six new corporate team members across its operations, sales & marketing, revenue management, and engineering disciplines. Carrie Duncan has been promoted to the role of regional vice president of operations from her most recent role as dual general manager of the AC Hotel and Residence Inn by Marriott Charlotte City Center, Charlotte, North Carolina. Donnie Morgan has also been promoted to the role of regional vice president of operations. Morgan most recently served as cluster general manager overseeing McKibbon’s Residence Inn Savannah Downtown/Historic District, Savannah, Georgia, while also providing support and strategic leadership to McKibbon’s two additional Savannah properties. Charity Wilson has been promoted to the role of regional director of sales & marketing from her most recent position as market director of sales for McKibbon’s cluster of six hotels in Knoxville, Tennessee. Michael Herr’s new role is regional revenue manager. Most recently, Herr worked as the task force director of revenue management for HEI Hotels and Resorts, Norwalk, Connecticut. Michael McKenzie also joins McKibbon as a regional revenue manager. McKenzie most recently served as revenue manager for Auro Hotels in Greenville, South Carolina. Terry McBride joins McKibbon as regional director of engineering from Concord Hospitality Enterprises, Raleigh, North Carolina, where he served as corporate regional facilities director.

YOTEL Boston, Massachusetts, announced the appointment of Julia Greenwald as director of sales and marketing. For the last four years, Greenwald has helmed local sales teams at the AC Hotel by Marriott Boston Cleveland Circle and AC Hotel by Marriott Boston North.

AC Hotel Atlanta Perimeter, Atlanta, Georgia, has appointed Adam Hill as general manager and Siera Daniels as director of sales & marketing. Hill most recently spent two years as the general manager for White Lodging and Newport Hospitality at the Courtyard by Marriott in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Prior to joining AC Hotel Atlanta Perimeter, Daniels was at Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter, where she was associate director of sales.

Hilton Miami Dadeland, Florida, welcomed Ana Isaza as director of sales and marketing. Isaza has previously been in corporate roles in the Fort Lauderdale and Miami area, including the role of senior sales manager on the hotel opening team for Hilton Aventura Miami.

HREC Investment Advisors, Colorado, announced that Adam Lallani has joined the firm as a vice president in a newly opened brokerage office in Houston, Texas. Prior to joining HREC, Lallani was a hospitality broker at Toronto, Canada-based Avison Young.

Gaylord Lamy has been named the new general manager of The Langham, Jakarta, Indonesia. Most recently, Lamy was the general manager of The Langham, Sydney, Australia. 

Edward Thomas Collection of Hotels (ETC), Santa Monica, California, announced that it has promoted Charlie Lopez-Quintana to the position of vice president & managing director of ETC Hotels. Lopez-Quintana was previously general manager at ETC’s Hotel Casa del Mar and Shutters on the Beach.

Teneo Hospitality Group, Eden Prairie, Minnesota, has named Gary Murakami vice president of sales and industry relations. Most recently, Murakami was director of global sales at MGM Resorts International, Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Karol Hotel, Pinellas County, Florida, announced the appointment of Tyler Nelson as executive sous chef. Most recently, Nelson served as executive chef of Roxy’s in Clearwater, Florida.

Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square, Pennsylvania, announced the hiring of Israel Prado Rivas as director of restaurants with operational oversight of the property’s restaurants Plough and The Exchange. Prior to joining the Lancaster team, Israel held positions with two hotels in Florida, the position of director of food & beverage at The Sarasota Modern Hotel and as assistant director of food & beverage at Naples Grande Beach Resort.

Hotel Revival, a JdV by Hyatt hotel, Baltimore, Maryland, welcomed Ryan Rhodes as its first director of content and sonic identity. Rhodes, who goes by and is more commonly known as DJ Impulse, has worked with brands including Nike, Red Bull, Vans,Food Network, MTV, Cisco, Chase Sapphire and more. Recently, he curated a selection of music for the newly opened ‘Dashery Café located on the ground floor of Hotel Revival.

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, Lake Buena Vista, Florida, has announced Jennifer Sharpe as its new senior catering sales manager and wedding planner. Having previously worked for the resort, she returns to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin after other positions with wedding and event companies including Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott and Wonderful Weddings and Events.

Cross Hotels & Resorts, Bangkok, Thailand, has appointed Biz M Asia as their General Sales Agent (GSA) in Japan, led by Mary Tolentino, who has over three decades of experience in sales and marketing and representing international hotel brands and independent properties in key destinations.
