People on the move: Omni, Avani, GHM

Omni Hotels & Resorts, Dallas, Texas, has appointed Peter Palli as chief commercial officer. He will be responsible for all revenue generating efforts across sales, marketing, revenue management, distribution, and analytics, as well as operations at the Omni customer-contact center.

“Peter’s varied experience in the hospitality industry, coupled with his passion for team building and creating an inclusive work culture, are both impressive and attributes that meld well within our company management dynamic,” said Peter Strebel, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts. “His focus on innovation, coupled with deep commercial acumen, make him a great asset to the leadership team as we continue to grow the Omni brand.”

A travel and hospitality veteran with 25 years of experience, Palli joins Omni from Signature Aviation, London, where he served as vice president of revenue management and analytics, leading efforts to digitize the commercial operation.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Miami, Florida, appointed Kristian Anderson as vice president of global sales and Karen Shiers as senior director of MICE sales. Anderson most recently was EVP of global sales at Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, Los Angeles. Shiers joins from Merlin Entertainments, Poole, England, where she held leadership roles in sales, marketing and revenue management for new openings of attractions and resorts.

Avani Hotels & Resorts announced new executive appointments at its properties in Thailand. Naowarat Arunkong rejoins Anantara Hua Hin Resort and Avani+ Hua Hin Resort as cluster general manager. Most recently, she was cluster general manager for Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre. Sandra Watermann is appointed cluster general manager at Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas and Avani+ Mai Khao Phuket Suites & Villas. Watermann was previously hotel manager of Rosewood Phuket. Chidchanok Pasinpong is the new general manager at Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel. She was previously general manager at SO/Sofitel Hua Hin. Darren Darwin is the general manager at the upcoming Avani+ Khao Lak Resort. He previously opened Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort in Oman as the general manager.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole, Wyoming, appointed Sean Casserly as resort manager. Casserly previously worked as director of marketing at Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore, Maryland.

The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, Auberge Resort Collection, Los Olivos, California, appointed Dave Elcon as general manager, and Rhoda Magbitang as executive chef. Elcon previously worked at Solage Resort in Calistoga, California. Magbitang most recently held the same role at Petit Ermitage in Los Angeles, California.

Park Hyatt Chicago, Chicago, Illinois, appointed Rike Erdbrink as general manager. Most recently, Rike served as hotel manager at Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong.

Alma Resort, Cam Ranh, Vietnam, appointed Vu Thi Huong Giang as resort manager and Rowie Villacencio as director of administration. Giang was previously executive assistant manager of F&B at The Anam Resort, Vietnam. Villacencio was previously director of HR at Movenpick Resort & Spa Boracay in the Philippines.

Sari Pacific Jakarta, Indonesia, appointed Martin Fabiano as general manager. He was previously general manager at Imperial Hotel Vung Tau, Vietnam.

Ted Turner Reserves, Atlanta, Georgia, promoted Theresa King to general manager of Vermejo Hospitality reserve. King was previously the general manager of its Sierra Grande retreat.

General Hotel Management, Singapore, appointed Clement Koh to be the group’s inaugural executive vice president for sales and marketing. He formerly served as GHM’s vice president of sales and marketing.

Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, Colorado, appointed Santosh Koradi as the new executive chef. He was most recently executive chef at Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu and Grand Hyatt, Bahamas.

LW Hospitality Advisors, New York City, appointed Peter Kressaty as chief commercial officer. Kressaty was previously executive vice president of Forbes Travel Guide, Atlanta, Georgia.

Dream Hotel Group, New York City, promoted Robert Mallia to vice president of Architecture and Construction. Prior to Dream, he worked at Manhattan-based architectural firm WQB Architecture.

The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, New York City, named Marija Mijic as the new director of restaurants. She was previously beverage director at Starr Restaurants, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Raines, Florence, South Carolina, appointed Kristen Myers as vice president of investments. She has been with the company since 2015.

Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City, Salt Lake City, Utah, appointed Pina Purpero as the hotel’s general manager. Most recently, Purpero was GM at Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle’s Southport.

Tobby Rau has been named general manager of Poco Diablo Resort & Spa, Sedona, Arizona. Previously, Rau was director of operations at L’Auberge de Sedona.

The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, New York City, named Lou Reynolds as the new director, luxury sales. She joins The Pierre from Marriott International, where she was account director, international group sales.

Hotel 116, Bellevue, Washington, appointed Ashnil Singh as its new general manager. Most recently, he held the position of general manager at Best Western Plus in Renton, Washington.

California-based Viceroy Hotel Group appointed Brian Speranza as the new area director of business and leisure travel of Hotel Zelos, Hotel Zetta and Hotel Zeppelin, part of Viceroy Hotels & Resorts’ Urban Retreats collection in San Francisco, California. He previously worked at The Peninsula New York.
