People on the move: Interstate, Graduate, Kimpton

Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Arlington, Texas, the international division of Aimbridge Hospitality, has named David Anderson as its new executive vice president – international, after announcing that Nicholas Northam will retire from the role at the end of the year.

Anderson was previously CEO of Sun Ltd. (Hotels & Resorts) Mauritius. He was also managing director of Dolce Hotels; regional vice president for Wyndham Hotel Group; and vice president for the Louvre Hotel Group in Paris, France.

David’s background adds depth to the leadership for operations and development, as he brings with him an impressive amount of experience and expertise having worked across all operator models and under both management and franchise agreements. Island Hospitality Management, West Palm Beach, Florida, has named John Abou-Ghannam as senior vice president of corporate IT ops & business intelligence. Abou-Ghannam joined Island Hospitality Management in 2004 as a financial analyst.

The Balfour Hotel, Miami, Florida, announce the appointment of Steven Acosta to executive chef. Prior to this, Acosta established his own culinary consulting business in 2018.

Davidson Hospitality Group, Atlanta, Georgia, announced the appointment of Patrick Broderick as vice president, sales and revenue management. Broderick joins Davidson from Marriott International, where he most recently served as vice president of sales for the Florida region.

Hotel Tupelo, Tupelo, Mississippi, has announced two additions to its leadership team: Danielle Del-Grande, general manager, and Jessica Hollinger, director of sales. Del-Grande was previously with Peachtree Hospitality Management. Hollinger previously served as director of sales for the Hilton Garden Inn Tupelo.

The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park, El Paso, Texas, announced seasoned hospitality expert Adrian Gonzalez as its new general manager. He previously worked at luxury resorts in Monterey, California, Chicago and Napa, California.

Dalata Hotel Group, Ireland, announced changes to its board. Cathriona Hallahan will join the board as an independent non-executive director and Robert Dix will retire as a director and leave the board at the conclusion of the 2022 AGM. Hallahan recently retired as managing director, Microsoft Ireland after 35 years with the company. In addition, Carol Phelan will join the board as an executive director on January 1, 2022. She joined the company in 2014 and became group chief financial officer on July 1, 2021.

Sage Lodge, Pray, Montana, announce the selection of Ben Jones as its new executive chef. Jones previously worked at Alderbrook Resort and Spa in Union, Washington.

Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel, Michigan, announce the appointment of David Jurcak as president of operations. Jurcak was previously managing director for Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas.

Susie Quitevis Fujikawa is the new director of sales and marketing and Scott Kazunaga is director of engineering at Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk, Honolulu, Hawaii. Fujikawa was most recently dual property director of sales and marketing, luxury, at Aston Waikiki Beach Tower & ESPACIO the Jewel of Waikiki, Honolulu. Kazunaga was most recently director of engineering at Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki, Honolulu.

Hyatt Regency Lake Washington, Seattle, Washington, announced the appointment of Scott Lane as general manager. Lane was most recently general manager at the Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland, Portland, Oregon.

Pendry Park City, Park City, Utah, announced its new executive team. The new director of sales and marketing is Chris Lawing, the new hotel manager is David Silva and the new director of spa is Jessie Valdez. Lawing was previously director of group sales at Montage Deer Valley, Park City. Silva most recently worked at the St. Regis Deer Valley, Park City. Valdez was previously spa director at Glenwild Golf Club & Spa, Park City.

Salamander Hotels & Resorts, Middelburg, Virginia, has appointed Robert McGrattan as the new executive chef of Hotel Bennett in Charleston, South Carolina. McGrattan’s most recent role was as executive chef at The Sagamore Pendry Baltimore, Baltimore, Maryland.

The Kimpton Alton Hotel, Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco, has appointed Emily Nichols as general manager. She previously served as the assistant general manager at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in Union Square, San Francisco, California.

Atlantis Paradise Island in The Bahamas announced Alan Orreal as vice president of culinary. His previous experience includes time as the executive sous chef at SATS, the main meal provider to Singapore Airlines.

Graduate Hotels, Nashville, Tennessee, announced the appointment of Kevin Osterhaus as Graduate Hotels president. Most recently, Osterhaus held the role of chief operating officer for Ennismore International, London, United Kingdom.

Azerai Can Tho in Vietnam has appointed Nicolas Pillet as its new general manager. Pillet was most recently as the GM of Amanoi, the Aman property in Ninh Thuan, Vietnam.

Hotel Jerome, Auberge Resorts Collection, Aspen, Colorado, announced Marlon Rambaran as executive chef. He joins from L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Steigenberger Hotels has confirmed the appointment of Hans-Rudolf Rütti as new general manager of the Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère, Davos, Switzerland. He previously worked at the 7132 Hotel in Vals, Switzerland.

TPG Hotels and Resorts, Meredith, New Hampshire, announced the appointment of Nicholas Squire as general manager of all-season resort Mill Falls at the Lake in Meredith, New Hampshire. Previously, Squire served as lodging director at Hermitage Club in West Dover, Vermont.

Hotel Equities, Atlanta, Georgia, announced that Peter Tziahanas was appointed senior vice president of operations and David Rosenberg earned a promotion to senior vice president of operations. Tziahanas most recently worked at Davidson Hospitality Group, Atlanta, where he served as regional vice president for the group’s lifestyle division, Pivot Hotels. Rosenberg previously served as vice president of operations for HP Hotels, Birmingham, Alabama.

The Tulsa Club Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, Tulsa, Oklahoma, welcomed Paul VanRaamsdonk as the hotel’s new general manager, and Marianne McCann as director of sales and marketing. VanRaamsdonk previously served as general manager of hotel operations and director of food and beverage at the Grand Casino Hotel and Resort in Shawnee, Oklahoma. McCann previously worked at Morgan’s Hotel Group, New York, NY.

Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Milwaukee, announced the appointment of Carlo Vermeeren as general manager of the Omaha Marriott Downtown at the Capitol District in Omaha, Nebraska. Most recently, Vermeeren served as hotel manager of The Roosevelt hotel in New Orleans, a Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
