People on the move: Four Seasons, Hilton, Centara Hotels & Resorts

Four Seasons has appointed Julie Bourgeois to the newly created role of senior vice president, retail. Following the launch of its online retail platform and the Four Seasons at Home Collection in 2019, this line of business has been growing over the last few years, enabling Four Seasons to reach potential and existing guests and further strengthen its role as a global luxury brand. 

With more than 15 years in the retail and hospitality space, Bourgeois is a leader in luxury, high-growth and omnichannel environments. Prior to Four Seasons, she launched two brands in the U.S., Canada and Hong Kong in the last seven years, including The Peninsula retail brand and Catimini. She has led the retail division of leading brands including Nespresso and IWC and joins Four Seasons from her most recent position as CEO of JACADI, a leading luxury children’s clothing brand from Paris, France. 

As senior vice president, retail she will focus on developing end-to-end customer experience, while leveraging innovation, partnerships, and data analytics to establish Four Seasons Retail as a competitive luxury retail business. In this role, she will identify opportunities to integrate the retail business with other Four Seasons product offerings. She will also lead Four Seasons on-property retail strategy for the more than 100 retail outlets across its portfolio.

Hay Creek Hotels announced Michael Bonasia as director of sales and marketing of Hotel Hartness, Greenville, South Carolina. Prior to joining Hotel Hartness, Bonasia was the vice president of sales and marketing at Tara Investments, North Carolina. 

The Allison Inn & Spa, Newburg, Oregon, has chosen Percy Brandon as its new general manager. Percy joins The Allison following 21 years of leadership as general manager at Vintners Resort, Sonoma County, California. 

The Jekyll Island Club Resort, Georgia, has chosen Johnny Carino as resort executive chef. Carino joins the team after serving as chief culinary director for his Chef Johnny Carino Companies. 

Atlantis Paradise Island in The Bahamas has named Anthony Clément vice president of food and beverage. Prior to this role, Clément served as national director of food and beverage for the Germain Group, Canada.  

The InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, Illinois, has chosen Andrew Court as executive chef. Most recently, Court served as a consulting chef for The Elora Mill Hotel & Spa, Pearle Hotel Development, both in Ontario, Canada.  

Palm Mountain Resort & Spa, Palm Springs, California, has named Patty Davis as its new general manager. Davis has served as general manager at many Columbia Hospitality properties, most recently the MarQueen Hotel in Seattle, Washington.  

The Doyle Collection, Dublin, Ireland, has appointed Gordon Drake as the new CEO of the group. Previously, Drake served as senior vice president of Westmont Hospitality Group, Toronto, Canada. 

Cape Resorts, New York, has named Dan Flannery chief executive officer. Most recently, Flannery served as senior vice president and managing director of EDITION (Mariott), New York. 

Scott Goldberg has been appointed executive director of food and beverage of the Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club, Brewster, Massachusetts. Most recently, Goldberg served as vice president of food and beverage at Camelback Resort, and Blue Mountain Resort, of KSL Resorts, both in Pennsylvania.  

The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco, has appointed Carlos Gomez and Chris Bean as director of restaurants and executive sous chef respectively. Earlier, Gomez was the director of restaurants for Enoteca by Paco Perez, Barcelona, Spain, while Bean joins after serving as sous chef in training at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco’s Parallel 37. 

Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, has chosen Eric Grimm as resort manager and Thor Holm as director of spa. Grimm joins the resort after serving as general manager of the Sheraton Detroit, Michigan, while Holm joins after having held general manager roles for the Beale Group, Sebastopol, California, and Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary, Freestone, California.  

Grace Bay Resorts, Turks and Caicos, has appointed Dana Hubbe as its director of sales for the Grace Bay Club as well as Rock House. Most recently, Hubbe founded Raise The RevPar, a boutique consultancy where she led sales efforts for hotels and resorts.  

YMCA of the Rockies, Granby, Colorado, has welcomed Joshua Huggett as general manager of the Snow Mountain Ranch property. Prior to joining the team, Huggett served as the senior operations manager of Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, California, for the Walt Disney Company. 

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, Lahaina, Hawaii, has named Shane Komine as director of food and beverage. Before accepting this role, Komine served as acting director of food and beverage at The Grand Wailea Resort, also in Hawaii. 

Serena Hotels South & Central Asia announced the appointment of Otto Kurzendorfer as the general manager of Islamabad Serena Hotel, Pakistan. Most recently, Kurzendorfer served as general manager at The Regency Hotel Kuwait. 

Hilton Columbus Downtown, Ohio, has named Sebastian La Rocca executive chef of FYR, Spark, and Stories on High, the three-anchor food and beverage concepts set to open this fall as part of the hotel’s expansion. Most recently, Chef La Rocca has been the chef/owner of the Eat Gastro Group in Costa Rica. 

North Central Group, Madison, Wisconsin, has announced several new promotions within its senior leadership team. Jeff Lenz served as president and chief development officer and is now the new president and chief asset officer. Eric Rottier is now chief operating officer, after having served as senior vice president of operations. Andy Inman has been named chief development officer. Previously, Inmanwas the vice president of development. Kim Richter is now vice president of community and investor relations. Prior to this position, Richter was director of community and investor relations.  

Le Méridien Denver Downtown, Colorado, has appointed Dagan Lynn as its new executive chef. Most recently, Lynn held tenures at Starwood Hotels and Resorts properties, including The Westin Houston, Memorial City, Texas, The Westin Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the W Retreat & Spa Vieques Island in Puerto Rico. 

Trilogy Spa Holdings, Phoenix, Arizona, has appointed Caitlin McKenna as chief development officer. Most recently, McKenna served as global head, human-centric Innovation, at JLL, Chicago, Illinois.  

Extended Stay America Management, Charlotte, North Carolina, has announced promotions within the company’s leadership team. Danny Meaux will serve as division vice president, operations-East. Meaux previously served as regional vice president. Adrian Vasile has been named divisional vice president, operations-Central after serving as regional vice president of operations. Beran Samba has been promoted to divisional vice president, operations-West after his tenure as group regional vice president. Haley Coleman has been promoted to director of operations excellence from her previous position as senior manager. Jackelin Thompson-White has been promoted to director of corporate housekeeping. She previously served as regional district manager and task force manager. Adrian Vasile has been named divisional vice president, operations-Central. Vasile has been an operational leader at Extended Stay America for nearly two decades. Beran Samba has been promoted to divisional vice president, operations-West. Samba joined Extended Stay America in June 2020, having previously served as senior vice president of operations for LaQuinta and regional vice president of operations for G6 Hospitality. 

Springboard Hospitality, Encino, California, has appointed Anthony Moody as The Yarrow, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Park City’s new general manager, and Nicholas Davies as the hotel’s executive chef. Most recently, Moody served as the general manager at The Farnam, Autograph Collection by Marriott in Omaha, while Davies joins from after his experience as executive chef at the Snowbasin Resort, Utah.  

Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thailand, promoted Thaschai Phattanagosai to the position of senior corporate director of corporate affairs and legal. Thaschai first joined Centara in 2009 in the communications department and worked his way up to executive assistant to the chairman’s office in 2018. 

YOTEL, London, England, has announced a series of senior appointments: Edward Pinchard as chief commercial officer; Olivia Donnan as vice president brand and communications; Nader Nawwar as vice president of business performance EMEA; Travis Breen as vice president of business performance USA; and Augustin Cacot as vice president of demand. YOTEL also made two key promotions: Clare Bastiman was promoted to vice president of commercial operations and Rohan Thakkar to chief development officer. Before taking on his new role, Pinchard was chief commercial officer at Freehand Hotels and Generator, New York, and senior vice president, sales and distribution at Radisson Hotel Group, Minnetonka, Minnesota. Donnan served as director of strategy and client services at BMF, London. Prior to YOTEL, Nawwar managed three Residence Inn hotels in London, whereas Breen held the position of vice president sales and revenue for Modus Hotels, Washington D.C. and was area director of sales and marketing for Kimpton Hotels, San Francisco, California. Cacot joins from Duetto, London, England, where he was vice president of customer success for EMEA. Bastiman previously worked as global director of distribution at YOTEL, while Thakkar has joined the team after having served as senior vice president, development and strategy. 

Bradley Hotel, Fort Wayne, Indiana, has appointed Brent Pope as general manager. Pope most recently served as General Manager of the Courtyard and Fairfield hotels in Noblesville, Indiana, working for Midwest Hospitality Group (MHG). 

Resort at Squaw Creek in Olympic Village has announced Melissa Ratkovits as spa director. Previously, she served as spa director at the Hyatt Regency Maui’s Marilyn Monroe Salon & Spa, Hawaii.  

Wild Dunes Resort, Charleston, South Carolina, has appointed Nico Scherman as general manager. Scherman joins Wild Dunes Resort most recently from Quirk Hotels & Galleries, Richmond, Virginia, as area general manager. 

JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, California, announced the newest member of its team, Eric Theiss, who will be the executive chef of the resort. Theiss was most recently the executive chef at Hotel Paseo, Palm Desert, California.
