Rocco Forte Hotels appointed Jan Arnold vice president of sales. Based in Frankfurt, Germany, Arnold will direct a team of 24 regional sales directors and managers in 12 countries in Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and China. He also is a member of Rocco Forte Hotels’ executive committee, reporting to the director of operations, Maurizio Saccani.
Arnold joined from Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, where he began his career in 2002 as a trainee in operational and administration departments in Boston. He advanced in the company, holding roles including associate regional director of sales in London, regional director of sales in Frankfurt’s worldwide sales office, and director of sales EMEA in the company’s office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Karol Hotel, opening in Clearwater, Florida, in January, appointed Jon Atanacio executive chef. He had been sous chef of Élevage at Epicurean Hotel in Tampa, Florida.
Hyatt Regency Boston named Matthew Danto associate director of sales and events. Danto has been working in sales with Hyatt in Boston since 2016.
The Lake House on Canandaigua in Canandaigua, New York, scheduled to open in 2020, named Simon Dewar and Jennifer Hess general manager and director of guest experiences, respectively. Dewar, a native of the United Kingdom, joins from Weekapaug Inn in Westerly, Rhode Island, and Blantyre in Lenox, Massachusetts. Hess, a cultural and recreational expert for the Finger Lakes Region, is the co-founder of Finger Lakes Yogascapes.
Somerset Hills Hotel, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton property in Warren, New Jersey, appointed Jerry Donohue executive chef ahead of the hotel’s January opening. Donohue was executive chef at The High Line Hotel in New York City.
Royal Sonesta Boston welcomed Eduardo Fernandez as general manager. Fernandez joined the team from Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was general manager.
MGM Resorts International named Stephanie Glanzer senior vice president and chief sales officer. Glanzer has been with MGM Resorts since 1998, most recently serving as vice president of sales strategy and operations.
Ahead of its spring opening in Charleston, South Carolina, the Emeline hotel from Makeready named Brad Harvey general manager and Shannon Hartman director of sales and marketing. Harvey previously spent several years in various positions at places including Ritz-Carltons in San Francisco and Aspen, Colorado. Hartman had been director of sales and marketing at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, also in Charleston.
The Historic Cavalier Hotel & Beach Club in Virginia Beach, Virginia, named Javier Cuesta Muñoz executive chef. Muñoz had been executive chef at St. Regis Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Starhotels Collezione’s London Complex in London appointed Thomas James Orchard general manager. His role spans The Franklin, The Gore and The Pelham. Orchard recently arrived from the Caribbean, where he was managing director and general manager at Carlisle Bay, Antigua in Saint Mary, Antigua and Barbuda.
The Curtis in Denver appointed Megan Pierce director of group sales. Pierce had been associate director of sales for Embassy Suites in Denver.
Ahead of its re-opening, The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida, named Matthew Quick hotel manager and Rizia Parker spa director. Quick formerly was director of food and beverage at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee, Georgia. Parker recently was director of spa at the Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa in the Cayman Islands.
Andaz Macau, opening in Macau in 2021, named Chikako Shimizu general manager. Shimizu recently was director of operations at Andaz Singapore, where she was involved in the hotel’s opening.
Nobu Hotel Palo Alto in Palo Alto, California, named Chris Suarez director of sales and marketing. Suarez recently was director of sales and marketing for the Stanford Park Hotel in Menlo Park, California.
Rosalynn Tay is senior vice president, head of growth and demand of Banyan Tree Holdings. She most recently was Dentsu Aegis Network Country Head and Dentsu chief executive officer. The company also named Jonathan Ye vice-president, head of demand, and Boris Sertic senior assistant vice president, head of revenue. Ye moved from the consumer tech world, where he was head of digital marketing, Asia Pacific, and chief marketing officer of Huawei. Sertic was corporate director of Centara Hotels & Resorts.
Robert-Jan Woltering, former general manager of Fairmont Mayakoba in Riviera Maya, Mexico, is now area general manager of Accor-Luxe Mexico. Marco Paramo was appointed area director, sales and marketing. Paramo has held various sales roles in Mexico at InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Melia Hotels International Group, among others.
