NEW GM HIRES
John McPartlan has been appointed general manager of the 667-room New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. McPartlan is a Marriott veteran with more than 25 years of experience. His Marriott career began in 1997 at the Newport Marriott in Newport, R.I.; he worked in various operations roles at Marriott-branded hotels in northern New Jersey, including Hanover, Elizabeth, Newark and Park Ridge; he was also the general manager of the Bridgewater Marriott in Bridgewater, N.J., for four years before his new position. Now, McPartlan is returning to the Brooklyn Marriott, where he served as director of operations from 2011 to 2017. His New York City experience includes complex director of operations at the Renaissance New York Times Square and the W Times Square.
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has appointed Franck Droin as general manager of Mandarin Oriental, Macau, where he will oversee day-to-day hotel operations. Before Mandarin Oriental, Macau, Droin joined one of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s flagship hotels in Thailand as hotel manager in 2016, where he was a part of the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok renovation.
Palmer House, a Hilton hotel, has appointed Konstantin Drosos as general manager. Drosos has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, all with Hilton in Illinois and California.
Drosos’ most recent position was general manager of Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport, the only hotel on airport grounds, where he oversaw day-to-day operations and led renovations. Drosos previously worked as the general manager of Embassy Suites Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile for three years.
The BoTree in London has appointed Eva Mount as general manager. She will oversee the hotel’s launch on Marylebone Lane this summer.
Mount previously worked as general manager at The Guardsman (sister hotel to The BoTree), The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences, The Arch London and Firmdale Hotels, where she held general manager roles at Dorset Square Hotel and Charlotte Street Hotel.
Remigio Sabado has been named general manager of Aqua-Aston Hospitality’s Maui Kaanapali Villas. Sabado has more than nine years of hospitality experience, most recently as manager at Napili Kai Beach Resort and AOAO Hale Kaanapali. He previously worked as the guest service manager and facilities manager at Maui Kaanapali Villas.
