JLL’S CEO JOINS ACCOR AS CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER

Accor has appointed Gilda Perez-Alvarado, currently Global CEO of JLL Hotels & Hospitality, as group chief strategy officer, effective October 1. Based in Paris, Perez-Alvarado will be a member of the group’s management board and will oversee global strategy, relations with hotel owners and strategic partnerships, reporting directly to Accor Chairman & CEO Sébastien Bazin.

Perez-Alvarado started her career at PwC before joining JLL in 2004. Working in the company’s hotel and hospitality division, she has accrued nearly two decades of experience providing strategic advice to the industry’s largest owners and investors, including sovereign wealth funds, private equity, global brands and family offices/UHNWIs.

Commenting on this appointment, Sébastien Bazin said: “I am confident that with her considerable skills and global hospitality expertise, Gilda will help us unlock the power of Accor’s strategy providing guests, owners and investors with an unrivaled hospitality experience.”

TWO ADDITIONS TO BANYAN TREE GROUP’S EUROPE & AMERICAS TEAM

Banyan Tree Group has announced two new executive appointments to strengthen business development efforts in the Americas and Europe. Tom Riley joins as executive director, acquisitions and development for the Americas. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from previous leadership positions with Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide, Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants and more. Javier de Villanueva Baygual joins as business development director for Europe after 12 years of experience in Europe’s hotel industry, and his recent accomplishments include securing ten properties for IHG Hotels.

Rosewood Hotel Group has appointed Ingrid Chen to the newly created role of vice president of brand strategy and marketing.

Based in Rosewood’s headquarters in Hong Kong and reporting directly to Joanna Gunn, chief brand officer, Chen will oversee brand marketing, social media and partnerships across all regions. Chen brings a wealth of experience in brand management for renowned luxury brands to her new role and has previously held senior leadership positions at JOYCE, Saint Laurent and Ralph Lauren. Before joining Rosewood, she served as the sales & marketing director at Dyson.

voco St. David’s, Cardiff, has appointed Konstantin Grimm as general manager. He joins the hotel following his most recent position as hotel manager of Kimpton Clocktower. With a career spanning more than 16 years in the hospitality industry, including roles with Conrad and Hilton Hotels, Grimm has plentiful experience managing large hotels.

Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Luxury & Lifestyle collection, has announced Devin Mahoney as its new general manager. With nearly two decades of experience, Mahoney began his career with Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in 2013 at this property and has since worked with other properties within the portfolio, including Kimpton Amara Resort and Spa in Sedona, Ariz. and Kimpton Hotel Solamar in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. He held general manager positions at the Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown and the Canopy by Hilton Scottsdale Old Town before returning to Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix.

SH Hotels & Resorts has named Pranav Jampani as vice president of sustainability. In this role, Jampani will lead the company’s sustainability efforts across the brand, enhancing sustainably minded initiatives, including energy tracking, carbon neutrality and ambitious zero waste goals.

Jampani joins SH Hotels & Resorts from Venetian Las Vegas Gaming, where he was the head of sustainability & corporate social responsibility and led the global ESG programs for large integrated resorts. Prior, he supported utilities and regulatory agencies with energy efficiency and sustainability programs in over ten states in the U.S.
