Mary Ahlstrom has been named opening director of sales at Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort & Spa in California, scheduled to open in the summer of 2012. Ahlstrom most recently served as director of sales at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe in San Diego.

Florida’s Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate has named Robert Ash executive chef. Ash’s previous experience includes time as executive chef at The Pfister in Milwaukee as well as executive chef/director of food and beverage at the InterContinental Milwaukee and executive outlet chef at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas.

Ayman Ashor has been named general manager of Tilal Liwa Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Prior, he was the opening hotel manager at Concorde Fujairah Hotel & Spa.

LaRell Baldwin has been promoted to general manager of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Billings, Montana. Baldwin previously served as director of sales at the hotel.

Francisco Blanch has been named director of sales and marketing for Starwood Hotel & Resorts’ Caribbean & Florida metro markets. Blanch previously oversaw leisure sales at Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

Regie Brown has been named general manager of Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach in Carlsbad, California. Brown most recently served as rooms executive at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach.

The Fairmont San Jose in California has named Kelley Cosgrove general manager. Cosgrove previously worked at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa Resort.

Shannon Dearin has been appointed general manager of Courtyard by Marriott Jacksonville Butler Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida. Dearin previously worked at Fairfield Inn and Suites Jacksonville West.

Arthur de Haast has been named chairman at Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels in London. De Haast previously combined the hotels global CEO role with a number of other leadership positions.

Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia, has appointed Michael Gordon general manager. Gordon most recently was general manager of The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

Sheriffa Issa has been appointed director of marketing at Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza and Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria at San Stefano in Cairo, Egypt. Issa previously was director of sales and marketing at Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence.

Orient-Express Hotels has appointed Ali Kasikci regional managing director for North America, Mexico and the Caribbean. Kasikci most recently was CEO and general manager of the Hillcrest Country Club in Los Angeles.

Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City has named Elizabeth Mao general manager. Mao has almost 10 years of experience in the hotel industry, including four previous general manager positions.

Robert Murray has been appointed chief operating officer South East and North East Asia at Accor. Murray formerly was senior vice president for Accor Greater China.

Rabin Ortiz has been named general manager of Copamarina Beach Resort in Guanica, Puerto Rico. Ortiz has spent the last 11 years as general manager at properties throughout the Caribbean including the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort and Casino in St. Maarten and Cuisinart Resort and Spa in Anguilla.

Pierre Perusset has been appointed general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong. Prior, Perusset was managing director of The Ritz-Carlton, Jakarta.

Sam Shih has been appointed chairman and chief operating officer for Accor Greater China. Shih previously was managing director for Asia Pacific for Red Bull.

Provenance Hotels in Portland, Oregon, has promoted Klaudio Simic to vice president of operations. Simic previously has served as general manager at both of the company’s boutique properties in Portland, the Hotel Lucia and the Hotel deluxe.

Flor van der Vaart has been appointed general manager of Hyatt Regency Curaçao Golf Resort, Spa and Marina in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. Van der Vaart recently worked for Marriott properties in Aruba.

Mark Wynne-Smith has been promoted to chief executive officer at Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels in London. Wynne-Smith previously served as EMEA CEO for the firm’s hotels business.

Bernd Zängle has been named director at the Steigenberger Hotel Hamburg in Germany. Zängle previously was in charge of the Graf Zeppelin in Stuttgart.
