Paris, Cannes up in September

September saw an improvement in hotel performances across France, according to a new report from In Extenso. Overall five- and four-star French hotels saw a 7.6% year-on-year increase in RevPAR for the month, while three-star hotels saw a 3.2% increase and two-star hotels a 1.3% increase.

In Paris, hotels saw ADR and RevPAR increases across all segments. Cannes led France’s destinations in terms of RevPAR increases with a 38% increase year-on-year in 5-star and 4-star hotels. In Extenso attributed the surge to the International TFWA World Exhibition, held in September.

Monaco also saw a large increase with a 22.5% year-on-year increase in RevPAR for 4-star to 5-star hotels as well as a 9.1% increase in ADR and 12.3% increase occupancy.

Not every market improved, though. Strasbourg saw decreases in all three metrics for its 5-star, 4-star and 3-star properties. In Extenso warned that November would likely be difficult for hotels in Paris and the rest of France due to bank holidays.
