Palm Holdings acquires 2 Edinburgh boutique hotels

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND London-based Palm Holdings has acquired two of Scotland’s most prominent boutique hotels and will collectively brand them with two other hotels in the city that it already owns.

Town House Co. has sold its Channings and The Howard for an undisclosed amount to Palm, which is planning substantial renovations to both properties to “restore them to their former glory,” The Scotsman reports.

Palm Holdings already owns two other properties in Edinburgh, the 85-key Old Waverly Hotel and the 41-key Holyrood ApartHotel. Palm plans to brand the four hotels as The Edinburgh Collection.

Town House is controlled by hotelier Peter Taylor, whose The Bonham, also in Edinburgh, is lauded as one of the hippest hotels in the United Kingdom. Taylor is currently focusing on running Glasgow’s first 5-star hotel, Blythswood Square, which opened last year.
