CANNES, FRANCE Marriott International is launching its JW Marriott brand in France, rebranding the famous 261-key Palais Stephanie hotel as JW Marriott Hotel Cannes. The changeover is slated for early next year, under a management agreement with Jesta Group.
The hotel was built on the site of the original Palais des Festivals of Cannes, where the famed film festival was held from its inception in 1946 until the mid-1980s. Recently renovated, the hotel now boasts modern, vibrant design reflecting its glamorous film heritage, paying tribute to the legendary film stars of the past including Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot and Elizabeth Taylor.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with Marriott and introducing the world-class JW Marriott brand in France,” says Elliott Aintabi, chairman and CEO of Jesta Group. “We are confident the JW Marriott Hotel Cannes will be one of the finest addresses in the city, and we look forward to many years of a successful partnership with Marriott International.”
The lively rooftop offers a heated swimming pool and Jacuzzis, and the hotel boasts one of Cannes’ only private sandy beaches. For dining, La Scena Lounge Bar and Restaurant serves up an eclectic menu of specialties from Italy, Japan and France. The hotel features an 820-seat theater auditorium and 16 meeting rooms with 12,900 sq. ft. of flexible space.
