Noted Green Hotel Gaia Napa Valley To Fly Doubletree Flag

AMERICAN CANYON, CALIFORNIA Gaia Napa Valley Hotel and Spa will join the Doubletree Hotels & Resorts portfolio later this year.

The new affiliation will let the 132-key Gaia charge about US$15 to US$20 more per room and is expected to generate as much as 25% more bookings, Napa Valley Register reports.

The Gaia brand, which includes one other hotel and another under development, is owned by San Francisco-based Atman Hospitality Group Inc. Gaia Napa Valley is certied as LEED Gold by U.S. Green Building Council.

The hotel uses vinegar to wash windows and has installed magnified solar tubes for lighting. A manmade lake alongside the hotel acts as a cooling agent for the entire property.
