Starwood to debut in Yinchuan: Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide signed an agreement with Ningxia Minsheng Real Estate Co., Ltd., to open its Element brand hotel in Yinchuan, China. Slated to open in early 2021, Element Yinchuan Binhe marks Starwood’s entry into Yinchuan.

Starwood grows in Tokyo: Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will open The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, a Luxury Collection Hotel, in July. The hotel will be The Luxury Collection’s first property in Tokyo and its second in Japan.

Choice signs in New Jersey: Choice Hotels International signed an agreement with franchise partner City Sunstone Properties to develop a new Cambria Hotel & Suites in Morristown, New Jersey. The 120-room hotel is expected to open in July 2017.

Davidson to manage in Cincinnati: Davidson Hotels & Resorts will manage the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. Davidson is the largest third party operator of full-service Hyatt hotels. The 491-room hotel was acquired by a partnership of H.I.G. Realty Partners, Silverpeak Real Estate Partners and Davidson Investment Group

Gaylord Texan to expand: The Gaylord Texan in Grapevine will undergo a US$120 million expansion that will make the property the second-largest hotel in Texas. The project will add 300 guestrooms to the resort’s 1,511-room count, putting it just below the 1,840 rooms at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel.
