Ritz-Carlton expands in Vietnam:  The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. announced the brand’s first hotel in Ho Chi Minh City with 250-room The Ritz-Carlton Saigon. The Bitexco Group is developing the hotel, set to open in 2017.

Westin expands in Florida:  Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced on Monday that it will rebrand The Resort at Marina Village, located in Cape Coral, as the 262-room The Westin Resort at Tarpon Point Marina, which is scheduled to reopen in late 2012 under Starwood management.

Kuriftu brand set to expand across East Africa:  Boston Partners and the Fairfax Africa Fund announced an agreement to set up ten Kuriftu-branded resorts across East Africa, although exact locations were not provided.

Israel funds 5 new hotels:  The Israeli tourism ministry allocated 112 million shekels (US$27 million) to establish five new hotels in Jerusalem, Beit She’an, Eilat, Netanya and Golan Heights.
