Pentahotels to debut in Hong Kong:  Pentahotels announced that it will open the 720-room Pentahotel Hong Kong, Kowloon in the summer of 2013, its first in the special administrative region.

GF buys North Carolina hotel:  An affiliate of GF Management bought the 174-room Holiday Inn Charlotte University and plans a US$5 million renovation, during which the hotel will remain open.

Supertel buys Maryland hotel:  Supertel Hospitality bought the 100-room Hilton Garden Inn Solomons Hotel, located in Dowell, Maryland, for US$11.5 million excluding closing costs and fees.

Bahamas occupancy up:  The Bahamas Hotel Association and tourism ministry announced that April occupancy was up to 81.9% in 2012 from 74.1% in 2011.

Lexington expands in Florida:  Vantage Hospitality Group announced that the former Atlantic Resort Ocean Palm, located in Daytona Beach, will rebrand as The Lexington Inn & Suites Daytona Beach.
