Edition to open in Dubai: Marriott International announced plans for the second Edition hotel in the United Arab Emirates in Dubai. Scheduled to open in 2018, the hotel will follow the 2016 debut of UAE’s first Edition property in Abu Dhabi.

Protea grows in Zambia: Marriott International’s Protea Hotels will open the eighth hotel in its Zambian portfolio, making it the largest hospitality brand in the country. The new hotel will include 80 guestrooms and is scheduled to be completed in Q3 2016.

Avani to debut in UAE: Minor Hotel Group has entered into a strategic partnership with Nakheel to co-invest and develop at 500-key Avani hotel in Dubai. Avani Deira Dubai Hotel is scheduled to open in 2018 and is the first Avani property to be announced in the United Arab Emirates.

Anantara coming to Ras Al Khaimah: Minor Hotel group will open the first Anantara property in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort is scheduled to open in 2018 and will have 225 keys.

Travelodge expands in Yorkshire: Travelodge will open 13 new properties across Yorkshire, England. The £80 million (US$123.1 million) investment is expected to add about 300 jobs.

Mandarin Oriental to manage in Beirut: Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will manage a new hotel and branded residences under developments in Beirut. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2018.

Accorhotels expands in Middle East: Action Hotels has partnered with Accorhotels’ Mercure brand for its new hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mercure Riyadh Olaya will have 130 guestrooms and is expected to open in Q4 2016.

 


Hotel coming to Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward: Beltway Investment International, Smart Hotels and Hospitality Ventures Management Group will develop the first hotel in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward. The US$30 million to US$35 million project will be a 140-room, high-end boutique hotel with a completion date set for the end of 2017.
