Hilton expands in Colombia:  Hilton Worldwide signed six franchise deals in Colombia with Metro Hotels. The hotels are set to open over the next five years, with the first two opening in 2013 in Barranquilla and Cartagena under the Hampton by Hilton brand.

IHG enters Algeria:  IHG sign its first hotel in Algeria, the 243-room Holiday Inn Algiers-Cheraga Tower. The hotel is being developed by Ramdane Group and will be managed by IHG.

AKA Beverly Hills to have hefty minimum stay:  Ahead of its October opening, the extended-stay AKA Beverly Hills will require guests to pay a minimum of US$12,000, or one month’s stay.
